Becoming a Member

Grafton Ngerrie LALC membership is strong and growing steadily, with approximately 600 current members. If you would like to join us, please follow the instructions below.


THE PROCESS

  1. Download and complete the Membership Application form.

  2. Return the form to us with the correct documentation attached (birth certificate, family line, letters of support etc.). Ensure you sign the application form.

  3. You application will be reviewed by the Board at the next monthly meeting.

  4. If all documentation is present and no other details required, you will be invited to attend a community members’ meeting where current members will vote to accept or decline your application based on the assessment of criteria for acceptance.

  5. Once approved, you will be entered onto the GNLALC membership roll as a non-voting member (unless you require to be a voting member).

  6. Once you are a member of GNLALC, your details will be sent to the Registrar of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) as well.

Please note that we do not send out a letter of confirmation unless requested.
